I have had the opportunity to present many technology-infused lessons to the staff at Brandon Valley Middle School. I am co-teaching a differentiation class to 16 middle school and high school teachers from Brandon Valley. I have developed a wiki to put all of my powerpoints and resources on for them to look at. I have also created a blog for them to respond and reflect on their accomplishments throughout the year and respond to coworkers on their accomplishments. I believe that the majority of the staff that did not know how to use blogs and wikis are now very familiar with them. Here are the links to the blog and wiki for my differentiation class:
I have also developed a wiki for all 6th grade reading teachers. We have been putting on many pages and sharing many ideas. Here is the link to the wiki: http://bv6read.wikispaces.com
After presenting to adult learners, I have learned that we can never assume that the people we are teaching will just understand everything we do. Adults and children alike need to have background knowledge so they can connect and learn the information being given to them.
